InterContinental Hong Kong Function Rooms Area is a project within the project, a prelude to the complete refurbishment of the 40 years old facility and an effort to correct the demarcation between InterContinental area and the adjacent Victoria Dockside shopping mall.

Majority of the refurbishment works are not visible but in the structural alteration to which a new 9.0 m x 4.2 m opening was made at Level 2 waffle slab structure and reframed with new reinforced concrete beams.  Other than the new grand stair that connects the two levels of Function and Meeting Rooms, the refurbished Function Rooms Area now offers new break-out areas on both levels and convenient connections to Back-of-House Areas.  With improved circulation, the already popular Function and Meeting Rooms offer better layout and sales options for patrons for different business and banqueting settings.
